As both a historian and a writer I have found and read many stories about military personnel who were awarded the CMH and the Cross level awards in combat.
But I've been able to find nothing about the reasons this and other high level peace time decorations are awarded
Where can i find some stories pertaining to this award ?

Also please don't quote wikipedia or some military regulation I already know the parameters of the award I'm more interested in particular instances.
